Forging copper is a process different from casting copper. It is created
on the copper plate. After heating, the quality of the copper plate
becomes soft and the hardness is restored after hammering. Repetition of
this process is usually used in relief. It can also be abstract,
concise decoration and not very figurative relief of people, animals, or
round sculpture, forging copper sculpture. The lines are smooth and
concise, the surface treatment is exquisite and the texture is rich.
Forged copper sculpture is characterized by conciseness, regularity and
strong decoration. This characteristic is very suitable for the design
and manufacture of decorative relief. On the other hand, forged copper
can control the thickness of copper plate at a level that can not only
produce the required pattern, but also meet the minimum load-bearing.
From this point of view, forged copper sculpture needs less material
than cast copper sculpture, and its process complexity is not as complex
as cast copper. It consumes less resources, basically forging. And
welding, grinding and polishing several kinds, so the cost is lower than
that of cast copper.
